Meridian is a practice of 84 people. We do not do starchitecture. We do buildings that outlive their architects — thoughtfully sited, honestly detailed, and built to be repaired rather than replaced.

Every project runs through the same four-stage process, and every stage has both an architect and an engineer at the table. Most practices separate the two. We think that's where buildings go wrong.

1. 1998 Founded in a Rotterdam attic above a print shop. Three partners, one drafting table.
2. 2004 First major commission — a school extension in Delft that got the practice noticed.
3. 2009 Opened the Copenhagen studio. Started running structure in-house instead of subcontracting.
4. 2015 Porto studio. Focus shifted toward adaptive reuse of industrial buildings.
5. 2020 Milan studio. Crossed 300 completed projects.
6. 2025 84 people across four studios. Still no investor.
